We need to know the Doctrine of Jesus Christ to be able to commit ourselves to truly following Him

There are many believers who ask questions, but most of these questions are about carnal things. People would like to know if they can do this or that; if they can have sex without being married at the town hall; if they have to be baptized by a man; if they can do this or that without being baptized with material water (by a man); whether they can divorce or remarry; whether they can work in such and such a trade; whether they must observe certain works of the Mosaic Law, such as the weekly Sabbath, or tithing; whether they can watch films or listen to music, or go to the cinema, or play games. ..

What we need to understand is that if we knew God's will (His Doctrine) clearly and perfectly, then we would no longer need to ask any questions about what we should or should not do. The fact that believers still ask what they should do about the things of the earth, shows us how far we (believers) are from God today. It is truly dramatic, knowing that the people who still ask these kinds of questions are sometimes more than 3 years into their conversion (I consider with indulgence that in our lost generation, that is how long it takes to stop asking these kinds of questions).

So why is it that after so much time we are still asking what we should do about all these completely carnal things? It is simply because we do not know perfectly the Doctrine that we are to put into practice. If we know the Doctrine of Jesus Christ, which reveals to us the perfect will of God for us, then we no longer ask ourselves whether we can do this or that; but having knowledge of the will of God, we try to put it into practice, without adding anything to it.

If we do not know perfectly the Doctrine that we must put into practice to be saved, we cannot truly follow Jesus. The Lord teaches us by saying:

"If anyone wants to come after me, and does not hate his father, his mother, his wife, his children, his brothers, his sisters, moreover his own life, he cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. For who of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it? Lest, when he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all who see him should come and mock him, and say, This man began to build and was not able to finish... So whoever among you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26-33)

We understand that if we do not know where we are going, we will not be able to complete the race. Jesus teaches us that we must renounce this world, human feelings, sin, our carnal desires, our whole life, in order to follow him. So it is no longer a question of whether we can do this or that, since we know clearly that we must give up everything to follow the Lord. Paul teaches us about consecration, saying that he who is married should act as if he were not married, so that he is not divided between God and his wife; so that he may be wholly God's; so that he may be ONE with God (1 Corinthians 7:29-35).

When we commit ourselves to the Lord, after we have fully understood His Gospel, after we have decided to give up everything to follow Him fully, we must not look back:

"And as they went on their way, a man said unto him, I will follow thee, Lord, whithersoever thou goest. But Jesus said to him, 'Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head. He said to another, "Follow me. He said, "Lord, let me go first and bury my father. Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God. Another said to him, "I will follow you, Lord, but let me first take leave of those who are in my house. But Jesus said to him, "He who puts his hand to the plough and looks behind him is not fit for the kingdom of God. (Luke, 9:57-62))

The scriptures and the Holy Spirit teach us what to do, and I invite you to read the other teachings I share if you really want to follow the Lord and save a lot of time. And once you understand your calling, you can choose between life and death; you can choose to follow the Lord, on the narrow path where few pass and which leads to the Kingdom of God, or to follow the crowds, on the broad path which leads to perdition.

Jesus tells us that few people are saved, and that we must strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many will seek to enter and will not be able to, for there are many called but few chosen. Many believers will tell the Lord that they have eaten and drunk in his presence, and that they have heard his teaching; but the Lord will say to them, 'I do not know you; depart from me, all you sinners:

"And one said to him, Lord, are there but few who are saved? And he said to them, "Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for I tell you that many will seek to enter, and will not be able to. When the father of the family has entered, and has shut the door, and you stand outside and knock and say, `Lord, Lord, open to us,` he will answer you, `I don`t know where you are: I don`t know where you are. Then you will say: We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our public places. And he will answer: I tell you that I don`t know where you are; depart from me, all you that do iniquity. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you are thrown out. (Luke, 13:23-28)

The Doctrine of the Gospel is not about wanting to please our husband, or wife, but only God, nor is it about material possessions, or even carnal ordinances, for the whole law of Christ is totally spiritual, but believers want to be justified by carnal acts simply so that they will not be persecuted by living the cross. For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, and it consists in our renouncing this world, all that we have, and ourselves; and crucifying our old man by stripping ourselves in the presence of God. Without going through the cross (crucifixion of the old man), we can never experience the resurrection (new birth).

This is only possible through true faith and charity/love!
