The smallest in the Kingdom of God is greater than John the Baptist

Luke 7:28 For I tell you, among those born of women there is no greater prophet than John the Baptist. However, the smallest in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.

Behind these words of Jesus hides a great mystery: Jesus teaches us in this passage that among all the prophets of the old covenant, all those who are born of women (of the flesh), John the Baptist is the greatest of all . John preached in the desert, dressed in a camel's hair garment, and he ate locusts and wild honey. He lived in renunciation and in obedience to God. We understand that John was a great man of God and he even died a martyr (because of the truth he preached) after completing his mission.

Jesus therefore tells us that among those born to women John is the greatest, but the least in the Kingdom of God is greater than John the Baptist; which means that the smallest among those born of God (like Christ) is greater than this great prophet.

Jesus teaches us in the scriptures that the condition for SEEING and ENTERING the Kingdom of God is to be born of God, which means that all who are born of God can see and enter the Kingdom of God (heavenly things), because the Kingdom of God is near to us, it is just that we cannot see it yet because we are not yet born of God. If someone claims to be born of God, they must examine their own life to see if they are truly like Christ, if they are truly greater than John the Baptist, and if they can see and enter the Kingdom of God. .

If someone is born of God he is like Christ, and that is why Jesus was not counted among those who were born of women, because he was born of God. He who is born of God is like the wind, he lets himself be guided completely by God and he walks with the Power of Christ, the one that worked all the miracles that Jesus did. He who is born of God does the works of Christ, because he acts by the Power of God, something that John despite his renunciation could not do because Christ was not yet dead and risen and the time of the new covenant had not yet started.

For us, we have a special grace, because our walk does not stop with renunciation, but it goes further. We have in this new covenant the power to become children of God (born of God) by faith, which none of the prophets of the old covenant could do, because the time had not yet come. The excellence of this covenant is beyond anything we can imagine and we absolutely must make an effort to grasp this grace, for as we know, there are very few people who grasp it.

All those who believed in Jesus Christ and decided to follow him received the Holy Spirit by faith, that is, they received THE POWER (authority) to BECOME children of God (who were born of God). So we who have received the Spirit have received power by faith, to become children of God (again by faith because everything is obtained by faith); and if someone has not received it, it suffices to read the Gospels and find the necessary faith to ask the Lord to send him his Holy Spirit, with a sincere commitment in the heart to follow him.

Once we have received this power, we must now BECOME children of God, that is, be born of God. To get there there are stages (there is a whole desert to cross), and to understand them I invite you to read the other teachings which speak of the Path which leads us to the new birth; of SANCTIFICATION without which no one can BE BORN OF GOD nor SEE THE LORD (his face).

"But he said: It has been given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but for others it is said to them in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. . "(Luke 8:10)
