We must be born again

No one can bear the new birth at the beginning of conversion. If we were to receive this great Power while our sinful nature is not yet fully crucified, we could not endure it; therefore we must complete our sanctification before we can receive the Power from on high and thus be born of God. For one does not put new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the skins will break and the wine will spill out (it will not remain in the skins), but one puts it into new skins, so that both are preserved. In the same way, one does not sew a piece of new cloth to an old garment, otherwise the new piece will take away the old garment and it will go away, making the tear bigger.

In the same way, no one can receive the New Wine (the new covenant/new birth) without first being made new (renovated/renewed). The vessels we are must first be filled with Water to the top, and only then can this Water be changed into Wine.

That is why when we believe in the Lord Jesus and decide to follow Him we receive the deposit of the Spirit, that is the POWER to BECOME children of God by faith. We do not receive the fact itself, but the power to become, in other words, the power to sanctify ourselves totally, spirit, soul and body; to become sanctified vessels of honour, and then to be born again.

When we receive the deposit of the Spirit we receive it (the Spirit) in the spiritual aspect of Water, not in the aspect of Wine; and as we walk by the Spirit, sanctifying ourselves in the presence of God, we nourish that Spirit (Water) so that it will grow in us and eventually take over the whole place, so that once we are filled with the Spirit (Water), that Water will turn into Wine, which represents the new birth.

Before we can put on the new man (Christ), our old man (Adam/sinner) must be totally crucified, for unless the grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it bears no fruit, but if it dies it bears much fruit. In the same way, if we want to bear fruit, our old man must totally die. Then we can say without hypocrisy that it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us.

This is why the first disciples received the Holy Spirit on the day of Christ's resurrection:

John 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said unto them, receive ye the Holy Ghost.

Then they were taught by Christ for 40 days about the things they were to experience (the new birth):

Acts 1:3 To whom also, after he had suffered, he presented himself alive, with many sure proofs, being seen by them forty days, and speaking to them of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

Then he told them to stay in the city of Jerusalem until they were clothed with the power from on high (the new birth/promise):

Luke 24:48 And you are witnesses of these things; and behold, I go to send the promise of my Father upon you. 49 You therefore abide in the city of Jerusalem, until you be clothed with power from on high.

Then they stayed in the temple every day (presence of God/sanctification) waiting for the promise:

Luke 24:50 After which he led them out to Bethany, and lifting up his hands, he blessed them. 51 And it came to pass that as he blessed them, he separated himself from them, and was taken up into heaven. 52 And when they had worshipped him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53 And they were still in the Temple, praising and blessing God. Amen!

Acts 1:14 And all these with the women, and with Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren, persevered with one accord in prayer and prayer.

And then they were born of God together:

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there was a sound from heaven, like the sound of a wind blowing with a vengeance, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, which rested on each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in foreign tongues as the Spirit made them speak.

And then the power of God was greatly manifested through the disciples and God worked great miracles through them while they were in heaven.

If we want to be saved and see the Power of God manifested exactly as it was in the days of the first Christians; if we want to see this true Church revived in our generation, when it has been missing for generations; we must believe in this Doctrine and put it into practice by faith.
