We have nothing to fear if we give up everything to follow the Lord

It is sometimes difficult to give up everything to follow Jesus, especially in this generation, because everything is done to stop us. To do this, we need enough faith. Faith comes from knowledge (from the revealed Word of God), so we need to know the scriptures, and understand their meaning, so that we can base our faith on something solid (the Truth).

The scriptures teach us the way God works; they teach us through the words of the prophets, Jesus and the apostles, as well as through the history of all those who served the Lord; from the beginning to the time of the first Christians. We can see that God has always provided for the needs of his servants, but also that he has always protected them, or delivered them from trial.

Since the Church has been compromised with the world and corrupted for a long time, we have a wrong vision of God's will for His Church; and when God opens our eyes to His will, we realise that everything around us is done to prevent us from answering the Lord's call; which is not so surprising, since, as the scriptures teach, all those who want to live godly in Jesus Christ will be persecuted, hated by all, rejected, fought against... (in order to prevent them).

So we need a certain faith in God to be able to put our trust in him enough, so that we don't worry about anything; that is, not only not to worry about our needs, whatever happens, but also not to fear men, the system of this world, the justice of this world...

Let us learn to know our God well, his way of dealing with those who obey him; and to put our faith fully in him and in his promises. If we are able to give up everything to follow him, he can only honour his Word and our faith, because God is just and good, and he never lies.

I invite you to read the following Bible passages carefully, and I hope that by the grace of God they will be able to produce in you, with the Holy Spirit, sufficient faith to abandon everything and start following the Lord without worrying about your needs, or fearing anything or anyone, because everything belongs to our God, he is the King of kings, and he protects his servants with Strength. No one can do anything against him; he makes the kings of the earth tremble; his enemies are powerless before his Greatness and his Power. If God is with us, who will be against us? And who will harm us if we are imitators of him who is good? Let us therefore be confident in our God, for he is the greatest and most powerful, and he never abandons his servants:

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and unmixed as doves: 17 But beware of men: for they shall deliver you up to the courts, and shall scourge you in the synagogues: 18 And ye shall be brought before governors, and kings, for my sake, to bear witness before them, and before the nations. 19 But when they deliver you up to them, don`t be anxious about what you will say, or how you will speak; for what you will say will be inspired to you in that hour. 20 For you will not speak, but the Spirit of your Father will speak in you. 21 Now brother will deliver up his brother to death, and father his child; and children will rise up against their fathers and mothers, and kill them. 22 You will be hated by all for my name`s sake; but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved. 23 Now when they persecute you in one city, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not be finished going through all the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes. 24 The disciple is not more than his lord, nor the servant more than his lord. 25 It is enough for the disciple to be like his master, and for the servant to be like his lord. If they called the father of the family Beelzebub, how much more will they call his servants so? 26 Don`t be afraid of them then; for there is nothing hidden that shouldn`t be discovered, and nothing secret that shouldn`t be known. 27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what I tell you in the hearing, preach from the housetops. 28. And don`t be afraid of those who take away the life of the body, and can`t kill the soul; but rather be afraid of him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for one pittance? But not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father`s permission. 30 The very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So do not be afraid; you are better than many sparrows. 32 Whoever therefore confesses me before men, I will also confess him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father in heaven.

1 Chronicles 15 Remember always his covenant, his promise to a thousand generations; 16 the covenant which he made with Abraham, the oath which he swore to Isaac, 17 which he confirmed to Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant, 18 saying: I will give you the land of Canaan; it is the lot of your inheritance; 19 When they were but a handful of people, few in number, and strangers in the land, 20 going from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people. 21 He allowed no man to oppress them, and he chastised kings for their sake, 22 saying: Don`t touch my anointed ones, and don`t harm my prophets. 23 Sing to The LORD, all the earth; declare his salvation from day to day; 24 declare his glory among the nations, his wonders among all the peoples. 25 For The LORD is great, and worthy of great praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but The LORD made the heavens. 27 Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his tabernacle. 28 Give to The LORD, O families of the peoples, give to The LORD the glory and the strength! 29 Give The LORD the glory due to his name. Bring offerings, and come before him; bow down to The LORD in holy array. 30 Tremble before him, all the earth. The world stands firm and does not stagger. 31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad. Let it be said among the nations: The LORD reigns! 32 Let the sea roar, and all that is in it. Let the field shake, and all that is in it. 33 Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before The LORD. For he is coming to judge the earth. 34 Give thanks to The LORD, for he is good, for his lovingkindness endures forever. 35 Say: Save us, O God of our salvation; gather us together, and take us out from among the nations, that we may praise your holy name, and glory in your praise. 36 Blessed be The LORD, the God of Israel, from generation to generation. All the people said, "Amen," and praised The LORD.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that The LORD your God is God, the faithful God, who keeps his covenant and his lovingkindness to a thousand generations to those who love him and keep his commandments, 10 and who repays those who hate him to their face, to destroy them. He doesn`t differ with him who hates him; he repays him to his face. 11 Take heed therefore to the commandments, and to the statutes, and to the ordinances, which I give you this day, to do them. 12 It shall come to pass, if you shall hear these ordinances, and keep them, and do them, that The LORD your God will keep to you the covenant and the mercy which he swore to your fathers; 13 and he will love you, and bless you, and multiply you, and bless the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your ground, and your grain, and your new wine, and your oil, and the increase of your cattle, and of your flocks, in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you; 14 and you shall be blessed above all peoples: 15 The LORD will turn away all diseases from you; and all the malignant tongues of Egypt, which you have known, he will not put on you; but he will bring them on all those who hate you. 16 You shall therefore destroy all the peoples whom The LORD your God delivers to you; your eye shall not spare them, neither shall you serve their gods; for they shall be a snare to you. 17 If you say in your heart, These nations are more than I; how shall I dispossess them? 18 Don`t be afraid of them; remember well what The LORD your God did to Pharaoh, and to all the Egyptians, 19 and the great trials which your eyes saw, and the signs and wonders, and the strong hand, and the outstretched arm, with which The LORD your God brought you forth out of Egypt: so shall The LORD your God do to all the peoples whom you fear. 20 The LORD your God shall send the hornet against them, until the remnant and the hiding ones be consumed from before you. 21 Don`t be dismayed at them; for The LORD your God is a great and terrible God among you. 22 But The LORD your God will remove these nations from before you by little and little; you shall not be able to overcome them quickly, lest the animals of the field multiply against you; 23 But The LORD your God shall deliver them up to you, and shall make them afraid with a great terror, until they be cut off. 24 He will deliver their kings into your hand, and you will destroy their name from under heaven.

Mark 10:29 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly I tell you, there is no one who has left home, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for my sake and the gospel`s, 30 Who will not receive a hundred times as much in this age, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.

Ecclesiastes 2:26 For God gives to the man who is pleasing to him wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but he gives to the sinner the task of gathering and sifting, that he may give to him who is pleasing to God.

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the afflicted. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to the prisoners;

2 to proclaim the year of The LORD`s lovingkindness, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all those who mourn; 3 to present to those in Zion who mourn, and to give them the crown instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of despondency; so that they shall be called the oaks of righteousness, the trees which The LORD planted to glorify him 4 They shall build the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the waste places of old; they shall renew the cities that were destroyed, that were ruined from generation to generation. 5 The strangers shall stand there to feed your flocks; the stranger`s children shall be your plowmen and your vine-dressers. 6 You shall be called the priests of The LORD; you shall be called the ministers of our God; you shall eat the wealth of the nations; in their place you shall be covered with their glory. 7 Instead of your shame you shall have a double portion; and instead of their shame they shall celebrate their portion; so that in their land they shall have double, and they shall rejoice forever. 8 For I am The LORD, who love justice, who hate robbery and iniquity; and I will give them their recompense faithfully, and will make an everlasting covenant with them. 9 Their seed will be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; and all who see them will know them for the seed which The LORD has blessed.

Matthew 6:31 Therefore don`t be anxious, saying, "What shall we eat? 32 For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything lay your requests before God with prayers and supplications, with thanksgiving, 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
